Please look us up at: www.theamericanheritagefestival.com to see the fun and entertainment we'll have on Graham's Historic Farm where Francis Marion and his men hid out after the Battle of Camden. We offer a powder stipend. Please contact me if you have any questions. Sincerely, Paul 904-200-1232

Comments:I am on the board with the Scottish Society of Charleston and our games are held each year at Boone Hall Plantation. In past years it has always been the 3rd weekend of September but next year we are plannning to change to the 1st weekend of November. I run the society tent as well coordinate with the reenactors that we are trying to bring to this event. I have my WW2 reenactors , but wish to expand to other time periods that are Scottish related. I see that you guys attend Ft King George and my Father in Law's clan used to have a huge reunion there and I would like to go back for events so by way of this emaila s well I am inquiring about membership. I have been with the 64th Foot for many years now . Comments:Hi! I've just found that one of my ancestors was Allan Stewart, who went to NC with his daughter Lilly in 1775. It's noted in _Records of Emigrants from England and Scotland to North America_ that he had been a lieutenant in Frasers' Regiment and he was going to take up his land grant for service from the previous war (presumably French and Indian). It also records he states his intentions to join General Gage if the "American troubles" continue. Could he be the same Allan Stewart who is recorded with the Black Pioneers and then later with the NC Highlanders? What references do you recommend I consult?

Comments:I have an 11 year old son, George, who has set his sights on becoming a historian. While visiting Cowpens he learned of the role of Highlander regiments in the American Revolution and has ever since been enthralled, due in large part to our own Scottish descent (Clan MacTavish). We would like to come see your Regiment or learn more in any other way. What is the best way to keep appraised of your events?

Comments:Kirk and Gang: Greetings! You may recall my family being part of the regiment when I was in seminary way back in 1999-2001. I was chaplain and sometimes piper. Well, working on Sundays sorta killed the whole reenactment thing but we think of you often. You may remember Zan, my oldest. He is now at US Navy helo school in Milton, FL. Still fighting for the cause! I hope to see you at some reenactment soon. Long Live the King! Alex

Comments:Just wanted to say I'm glad The North Carolina Highlanders still exist. We hear about The Scottish Regiments in those times (42nd,71st,74th,76th,84th), but hardly anything regarding The NCHR and The Queen's Rangers' Highland Co'y. I met your unit during The 215th Anniversary of The Battle of Guilford Courthouse. All the best. Xavier Allen, 84th R.H.E.

Comments:Hello!!! I,m glad to see your site. Love it. I lived in NC for a long while and was part of the NCHR from maybe late 70's thru the 80's. Trent Carter was head at the time. Of course Mr. Cone was there then. His was the only familiar face I saw. Big turnover over the years? Sure wish I could be a part of y'all again and I really miss NC, but I guess I'm stuck out here for the time being. Have fun and good memories. Dennis Harris conedd866@live.com

Comments:Why do some of you wear blue sleeved waistcoats? The regimentals are white faced and the lace plain white? Do you have drawings of the regimental coats or patterns? Several members of the 71st were prisoners of war after their capture in Boston Harbor in 1776, and were inturned here in Williamsburg.
